RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAMS
Empower Your Future with clean and affordable Solar Energy
WHY SOLAR?
Solar power is a clean, renewable energy source that reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and lowers greenhouse gas emissions. By harnessing the power of the sun, we can create a sustainable energy future for our community, providing long-term economic and environmental benefits.
Bringing Clean Energy to Our Community
At 4CORE, we're committed to fostering sustainable energy solutions and making solar power accessible to everyone in our community. Our solar initiatives benefit the environment and our local residents, with a special focus on income-qualified households.
Funding for Project SunShare is provided by Shaw Solar, local donors, and a sliding-scale contribution from the participant.
This program is available to working homeowners within Shaw Solar's service territory, which includes the majority of Archuleta, La Plata, and Montezuma Counties, along with the towns of Silverton and Dolores. Qualified applicants will be pre-selected through a lottery process.
Additionally:
You must own your own home and meet solar site requirements.
Make at or below 150% AMI and provide supporting documents.
Applications will be accepted from Feb 1-28, 2025. The lottery will be drawn in March 2025.
The spirit of this program is to serve those who truly could not afford rooftop solar.
Please only apply if your income qualification truly represents your financial well-being.
What to Know About Project SunShare
Application Window: February 1-28, 2025
The target audience for this program is households earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) up to 150% AMI. See if you qualify here. For reference, the 2024 80% AMI in La Plata County is $70,720 for a two-person household.
Thanks to Shaw Solar's generous equipment donation, the project has secured 100 kW of solar panels— enough to power 20-25 solar arrays!
While Shaw Solar has generously donated equipment, local donors are also supporting Project SunShare. Qualified applicants will contribute the remaining cost based on a sliding scale—if you make 80% AMI, you will contribute less than a household making at or below 150% AMI.
Homeowner contributions are eligible for the 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit, which provides additional savings.
Join us in illuminating a path toward energy equity in our community.
