Rainwater harvesting is nothing new; it just went out of vogue for the last few centuries. There are 2 primary ways to do it, both perfectly legal: rain gardens and rain barrels. The two are used for different purposes, and can be used together, with the end result keeping every drop of rain on your property to hydrate the land for fire resistance; to save money and energy; have healthier plants; prevent flooding; and mitigate erosive cutting during storms.
This workshop will help you work through which method to use for your intended purpose, given your specific site parameters. You will leave with simple steps to take for implementation at home.
