Thanks to a generous grant from the LOR Foundation, 12 additional  older, income qualified adults in Cortez received their FREE eBike or eTrike in September 2023. Maybe you’ve seen the happy eBikers around town.

BIG THANK YOU to the LOR Foundation for making this possible!

22 eBikes and eTrikes delivered to Cortez Thanks to the Colorado Energy Office!

A generous grant from the  Colorado Energy Office  provided 22 FREE eBikes and eTrikes for Cortez area older, income-qualified adults. Participants 55 and older were selected based on income qualifications of 80% AMI(Area Median Income) or lower, highest need, and those with physical disabilities. This innovative loan-to-own, zero emission transportation option provided operation training, safety and education and participants received a free eBike or eTrike with accessories that make eBike travel safe and convenient.

The Cortez 55+ eBike program is made possible with the support of Empire Electric and Tri State, Montezuma Senior Center, City of Cortez, Montezuma County, Kokopelli Bike and Board, and Richard Ballantine with the Cortez Journal.

4CORE partnered with the Colorado Energy Office in 2021 for the Roll-to-Restaurants electric bike pilot program.

Designed to benefit low-income essential workers impacted by the pandemic, Roll-to-Restaurants got eBikes in the hands of Durango’s restaurant employees. The program’s aim is to not only help local community members, but to demonstrate that eBikes can be a fun, safe and convenient way to take essential trips around town.

Roll-to-Restaurants encourages eBike adoption in Durango, which will assist the city in its overarching goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 (from 2016 levels), with an interim goal of a 30% reduction by 2030. The program demonstrates that eBikes are a safe, healthy, and convenient way to take essential trips around town.

To engage more members of our LatinX community, 4CORE is partnered with Compañeros to provide Spanish translation for all components of the program.

The eBike program is part of the Colorado Energy Office’s Can Do Colorado Community Challenge, through which Colorado’s state agencies, nonprofits, and other partners are offering a variety of resources to local communities and their respective businesses to help safely reopen the economy and point the state towards a healthier and more sustainable future.
