Give Up the Gas!

How much are we saving in CO2 emissions annually with each EV in the region?

  • 1 Conventional gas vehicle emits an average of 11,435 pounds of CO2 annually
  • Taking into account the Colorado electricity mix of sources from the grid (coal, wind, solar, etc.) the total emissions for one EV is 6,481 pounds of CO2 annually. See Dept. of Energy Alternative Fuels Data

What does that mean?

Each new EV in the region is saving an estimated 4,954 pounds of emissions per year. With 50 Nissan Leafs that equates to an estimated 247,700 pounds of CO2 emissions removed from our air in the region!

Lightning eMotors

Lightning eMotors came to town and the Fleet Managers had a chance to see the EV medium duty trucks hitting the road. Buses, shuttles and vans will be your next fleet purchases.

Thank you to the Durango Herald and Richard Ballantine for supporting this event!
